The Marangu Route (the “Coca‑Cola” route) is Kilimanjaro’s classic southern approach, ascending from rainforest through moorland to Kibo and Uhuru Peak. It’s unique for shared mountain huts instead of tents, offering more comfort on the mountain. Typically done in 5–6 days—5 days is common, but 6 days (or an extra acclimatization day) improves summit chances. Best for trekkers wanting a straightforward, hut‑based climb; expect more crowds and a faster ascent profile than longer routes.
